• What is the dimensional weight?
Dimensional weight is a term used in logistics and refers to the weight a parcel would have based on its dimensions rather than its actual weight. It is primarily used to calculate shipping costs.
It is calculated using the following formula:
Length x Width x Height (in cm) / Volume factor
The volume factor varies depending on the shipping service provider.
For some carriers, the greater of the two weights is used as the basis for calculation. If the volumetric weight exceeds the actual weight, the volumetric weight will be charged.
It is always displayed in the "Size/Weight/Girth/Volumetric Weight" column in the open orders and shipping overview.
